Juxtapose Sliding Images

Communicating change in one single visual representation. Meet Juxtapose.

What is it?

Juxtapose is a simple web app that allows you to create image comparisons, so you can view two images at the same time. It works by layering one image on top of the other. The user can manipulate the images with a slider, to control how much of each image is exposed.

It can be used to show the passage of time, as in the images below:

How could it enhance the world of IC?

There are a few ways creating a time-comparison image could be very useful in internal comms.

Imagine you’re changing the layout of the office, and you want to make sure everyone understands and is on board with the change. You could create a time-comparison image showing one picture of what the office looks like now, and a mock-up of what it will look like after the change. If employees can see how the change will elapse, it’s more likely they’ll become excited by it. Or, offer up their own suggestions as to the direction the change should take. Telling a visual story, with a clear beginning and end, is a great way to inspire employees and capture their imaginations.
